Sorry for the heavy election postage, but wanted to shout out to the My Name is Sarah project, featuring my aunt Sally. The project is an odd, one-off piece of grassroots activism. The About page reads:
"A small film crew has come together from LA, NY, Boston and NH to make short video portraits of women in swing states through the Midwest. These women all support Barack Obama, and they are all named Sarah."
The concept didn't seem (and still doesn't seem) particularly extraordinary in any sense, but that's what makes it so wonderful. The women in the videos aren't die-hard soldiers for Obama (though there's nothing wrong with that), but ordinary, everyday Americans, with busy lives, worries, sources of joy and inspiration, and a belief that Obama is the best guy to lead this nation. Watch the videos here (my aunt is here), or find the project on twitter or Facebook.
