Mathematics in Movies

Oliver Neel, a professor at Harvard, has a collection of 40+ clips from popular movies that deal with math in some way. They're available both as flash and quicktime files, and shouldn't trigger any school district website filters. Awesome!

My favorites:

Alice in Wonderland- Unbirthdays.

"What are the chances two people in the same class have the same birthday?"

Stand and Deliver- Variables and Giggolos.

"How do you turn word problems into algebraic expressions?"

Like Mike – Supersized Triangles

"What mnemonics can we use to remember names of shapes?"

Thanks to John Domecus, Aptos 8th grade Math teacher, for the tip.
